Vitamins and Supplements
Vitamins For Life
Every day the human body manufactures over 200 billion red blood cells, as it works to regenerate bone and skin tissue and operate major systems that include the circulatory and nervous systems and endocrine and digestive functions. In order to maintain these systems properly the body requires the right levels of specific vitamins and minerals found in our environment and many of the foods we eat.
When we consume food, and some liquids such as milk and juice, vitamins travel through the blood stream to help restore the body, produce energy and aid in overall function. They work to strengthen our body’s immune system and fight against harmful pollutants as well. Not all vitamins are used by the body immediately however. Some may be stored in the body’s liver and fat tissue and remain there for up to six months until such time as the body requires them.
Diet Alone May Not Be Enough—Supplements Can Help
While a balanced diet is critical for the recommended daily allowance of vitamins and minerals, many people fail to get the right amounts of protein, carbohydrates, and fats each day to provide them.
Because of dietary restrictions and lifestyle choices that dictate our eating habits many of us don’t get the nutritional requirements we need for optimal health and wellness.
No matter where you are in life, supplements can be taken to boost levels of specific vitamins necessary to maintain a healthy balanced lifestyle, allowing for growth, development and maintenance.
Finding the right vitamin supplement that fits your individual needs is key to the overall nutrition process.
