Healthy sexual
function is successful only when the nerves and blood vessels connected with sexual
organs are healthy. In diabetes for
example, too much glucose in the blood is damaging to the lining of the blood
vessels. It also harms the nerves that carry signals from the sex
organs. What results is a lack of sexual sensation and/or inability to respond.
Vitamin C- Vitamin C increases blood flow,
important for sexual health. Peppers,
potatoes and strawberries contain vitamin C, as well as citrus fruits.
Vitamin A-This vitamin is necessary to
produce both male and female sex hormones.
The B vitamin, niacin-This B vitamin helps dilate blood
vessels and improves circulation.
Vitamin B6-Vitamin B6 can stimulate the gonadotrophin
hormones that evoke sex hormones in both genders by decreasing prolactin, a
hormone that diminishes the sexual appetite.
Vitamin E-This vitamin increases the flow of
blood and oxygen to the genitals. It also enhances the production of sex
hormones and increases vitality.
